I got my final logo files yesterday–which means I’ve spent hours and hours playing with the template for the blog and Etsy shop. The blog layout and colors will probably change several times over the next few weeks, as I try to get everything just so. But isn’t that logo stunning? It was created for me by Rory of Red King Press, and I couldn’t be happier. Rory has a very thorough preliminary questionnaire that really made me think about what I wanted before she even started making sketches. Because of the excellent communication at the beginning of the process, revisions were minimal. I’d recommend her without reservation.
I’ve also been revamping my Knitted Goddess pattern. The basic pattern is unchanged, but I’m adding troubleshooting tips for a more successful finished project. And while I’m at it, I’m adding more pictures and playing with fonts and colors to make it prettier. It was my first pattern, so there was plenty of room for improvement.
I’m nearly done with the prototype for the cowl I mentioned last week, so I thought I’d give you all a little sneak peek. I’m still in love with this yarn, and I can’t wait to see how it looks when it’s been blocked. Cables always look a little wonky before blocking. Wish me luck keeping the cats away when I get to that part of the process. And if you’re interested in test knitting this pattern, contact me for details.
Yesterday I started playing around with a little non-knitting project. I found a red wool sweater at the thrift store that had some holes in it, so I brought it home and felted it. This is the first experiment, so the embroidery is a little sloppy. I’m sure there’ll be more pictures of red felt experiments in the near future. Especially since Valentine’s Day is only a month away.
The rest of this week will be dedicated to finishing the goddess pattern revisions, finishing the cowl prototype and writing up the pattern. What are you creating?
