My sweetie and I were snowed in over the weekend. We finally watched the last episode of Sherlock season three, along with many episodes of Antiques Roadshow and the movie Austenland (which I’d never seen). Also, there was this:
I spent hours and hours playing with buttons and thread. I’m slowly listing these little ACEO’s in my Etsy shop. My favorite buttons are those dark gray pearlescent ones–they’re vintage, though the seller didn’t know how old. The subtle color variations make my heart flutter. No, really. So much that I wanted to wear them in a way that would showcase their beautiful colors, so I started playing around with the idea of making a pendant.
The picture above was my third prototype. I decided I hated the ribbon bail and tried again with a bail made from a silver plated head pin. Much better. I’ll try to get pictures of the finished product this week. I found a delicate silver chain to hang it from and I love it.

And yes, those are little drops of water. I had to end my photo session before I was finished yesterday. The snowpocalypse has ended, and we are back to rain.
