Yellow and Gray Jewelry: Inspired by Forsythia

The Forsythia is blooming! I love the blazing hues of gold, especially on cloudy days when everything else seems gray.

So Sunshiney
So Sunshiney

Yes, I took these pictures on a sunny day. Forsythia is striking no matter the weather.

Contrast
Contrast

I love the contrast of the bright flowers against the dark green trees. And this kind of contrast–vivid yellow against a somber backdrop–inspired my two latest pieces of jewelry. Both pieces feature felt created from a wool sweater, vintage buttons, and reclaimed chains and findings.

The pendant (above) I’m still selecting the right chain for it–or maybe a cord. Or maybe I’ll sell it as-is, and let the buyer choose?

Flowers!
Flowers!

The necklace is ready to go. I just need to get a good picture of it hanging on a neck (or something that looks like a neck). Then I’ll list it in the Etsy shop. I love the way this one turned out! I think it would be a fantastic mother’s day present.

And for those of you still snow-bound, here is one more picture of flowers and sunshine to help see you through. Spring is almost here!
