On My Altar, July 23, 2015

I have an altar that changes every now and then as the seasons pass and my focus shifts. Here’s what’s on my altar right now:

I’ve had this little hanging cabinet for years now. It makes me happy every time I look at it.

Altar with Open Doors

It’s magical whether the doors are open or closed.

For me the altar is a place for items that make me feel closer to the sacred. I always arrange things according to what feels right, rather than having any set structure. I don’t often find representations of deity that I like, so the altars represent the god, and the feathers represent the goddess. And of course there’s a candle for each.

Many of my most treasured items are things I’ve found on my walks.

Moon Jar

Or are handmade items, like this little jar from Fehu Stoneware. It holds tiny stones gifted to me by a dear friend.

Bottom Shelf of the Altar

And always present is the hand made “Love” stone gifted to me by my soon-to-be-wife on our first anniversary. Because what’s more magical than love?

What’s on YOUR altar? I’d love to see.
